Fundraising completed!

We are very glad to share that we have completed a new financing round of $2.3M! It was lead by Meridian Street Capital, a US early stage venture capital fund focused exclusively at the intersection of technology and healthcare, with more that 30 startups in its portfolio of which Wúru is the first originating in Latin America. We have also added an A team of angel investors with track record founding and scaling tech companies. Many of our original pre seed investors also participated - Ciro Ventures and Bonim Corp, among others. We also expanded our board of directors adding Scott Law (Meridian Street Capital) and Damian Olive (Wúru US Director). Both bring incredible level of experience to the table.

As a fellow founder told me, every dollar raised in this context counts double. To put this achievement in perspective, the venture environment today is the worse since the financial crisis in 2008 and many companies are downsizing. Wúru´s runway after fundraising is more than 3 years; having the capital needed to execute our plans is a clear competitive advantage.

We have the unique opportunity to build a category defining company in health data analytics, with the purpose of making quality healthcare accessible for all. Wúru is a mission driven company with mission driven people. It is worth repeating what we said when this journey began: “estamos donde queremos estar, y prometemos dejarlo todo en la cancha”.

To new investors joining: you can check out the full history of monthly updates here in case some context is missing. We are proud to have you all onboard!

A new organization that fits a new stage

We redesigned our org chart so that it aligns better with our execution priorities. A summary of the main changes:

You can check the full org chart here with the names behind each role, with still many positions to be recruited.

Product development highlights

Mariana Szewach joined Wúru as our first Product Owner. She is a biomedical engineer from ITBA that has done a similar role at another health tech startup, so her ramp up has been quite fast. She already made an impact developing and prioritizing product use cases.
